Dog friendly, luxury self catering barn accommodation in Brecon Beacons, Mid Wales - The Byre

Bookings are taken on a weekly basis with prices starting at £550.

Out of season, short breaks will be considered on a three day (Friday - Monday) or four day (Monday - Friday) basis with prices starting at £350.  A refundable damage deposit is required.

Guests are welcome to check in after 3.30pm and are requested to check out by 11am.

The Byre is both child and dog friendly accommodation.

Encouraged by the enthusiasm of our wonderful guests we converted what was once the cowshed (or byre) into self-catering accommodation in the idyllic Brecon Beacons setting. It is perfect for one or two couples or a family of four/five, and as both bedrooms are equal in size and stature, there is no need to quibble over who gets the best one!

This tastefully furnished two-master-bedroomed stone dwelling with solid oak beams throughout and flagstone floor belies its lowly beginnings. It provides an open plan living area with double height sitting room complemented by French windows looking out towards Pen y Fan and the Brecon Beacons.

A wood-burning stove ensures the place is warm and cosy should the weather be inclement with comfy seating to relax and enjoy the views, the company and the conversation. The dining area enables you to enjoy romantic meals prepared in the well-equipped kitchen; or you might choose to come back from a day out on the hills to a hearty stew that has been cooking in the oven on the wood burning stove.

A solid oak staircase will lead the way up to one of the spacious bedroom suites complete with pedestal bath in the bedroom so you can enjoy a soak and the views across the valley to the Black Mountains and the Brecon Beacons.

Downstairs a corridor leads to the other large bedroom and separate bathroom, the former having French windows onto the patio and views across to the Brecon Beacons and the latter fitted with a bateau bath, separate large shower, loo and washbasin.  As in our other places, bathrobes and fluffy towels will be provided.

Underfloor heating means you can kick off your walking boots at the door and enjoy the warmth permeating through the flagstones. Both French windows lead onto the patio that runs the length of the property where you’ll be able to sit outside and enjoy the changing scenery or rustle up a meal on the barbecue.
